This Insight is a one-hour conversation designed to help industry professionals navigate their way through a highly competitive and fast-changing retail environment driven by today’s digital economy. We will explore market dynamics in the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) channel and how retailers and CPG companies need to deal with the challenges presented by Amazon and other new technology threats.

This discussion will be a moderated chat between three talented professionals in thespace. Attendees are permitted to ask questions prior, during, and after the live session, and share their experiences online at any point.

The first expert, Richard Kestenbaum, is an investment banker who has over thirty years experience advising clients in the Apparel, Retail, and Consumer sectors. He is a Co-Founder and Partner at Triangle Capital and has served as a Managing Director at Financo, as well as a Partner at Drexel Burnham Lambert. Richard is an oft-quoted expert on the retail and merchandising industries. He appears frequently in print, on podcasts and other media, as well as in person at industry panels and conferences. He is a regular contributor on and posts to his blog there about three times a month.

The second expert, Roberto Ramos, leads global strategy and communications for the Doneger Group − the global leader in merchandising and business strategies for the retail and fashion industries. He specializes in marketing and creative strategies across media with a particular interest in the gathering and analysis of consumer insights that lead up to positioning statements and campaigns.

The third expert, Barry Benjamin has over a decade of experience as a technology, advertising and privacy lawyer and is currently a Partner at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton. As an experienced litigator, Mr. Benjamin has handled a wide range of cases, including false advertising, trademark, unfair competition, trade dress, and copyright, as well as general commercial and fraud claims for large and small company clients in the retail and consumer space.

Barry will function as a moderator to facilitate the discussion between the experts and the audience by ensuring that the dialogue answers key questions and produces actionable insights that professionals can use to build their respective businesses. Attendees can participate by submitting their specific questions online for the experts to address during the call or online. The discussion will cover these particular areas:
